Halls are offering home seekers a unique opportunity to acquire a serviced building plot either as a self-build or custom-built project in the ancient border market town of Bishops Castle.
Sales have already been agreed for two of the nine building plots at The Leys, Lavender Bank, Bishops Castle, which are on offer for between £120,000 and £170,000 each.
Situated on the edge of the town with country views, each plot has approved plans for a characterful, energy efficient, detached dwelling.
Prospective buyers will be able to build their own home which they can tailor to their own preferences, subject to a set design code. They also have the option to work with the developer, Czero Homes, to build the pre-approved design.
Each dwelling type will have a set build cost and is subject to a build agreement with stage payments as the build progresses. Czero Homes will also work with buyers to amend the design or deal with planning submission if required.
Alternatively, they could commission the developer to build the shell of the home or employ their own builder. With custom build, buyers pay stamp duty on the plot only and not the finished house, making a considerable saving.
“Building your own home has many advantages,” said David Bryan-Jones, manager of Halls’ Bishops Castle office. “You can influence the design, have bigger rooms, more storage, better energy performance or a renewable heating system.
“However, it can be daunting, which is why Czero Homes is there to help. The company specialises in providing a well designed, low carbon home without needing a bigger budget.”
Whilst the plots back onto open fields with country views, they are conveniently located within walking distance of the town centre and are accessed off the popular Lavender Bank cul-de-sac.
Bishops Castle offers a good range of amenities, including two breweries and the larger towns of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Newtown are within comfortable driving distance.
